What Should I Be Aware of to Source Deals Effectively

Title says it all. I'm potentially moving into a development role where I'll be given a chance to source deals. My whole career I've been on the execution side, basically running the project from entitlement to hand off to the asset management once we've stabilized the asset. Wanted to ask the folks what I should be aware of to source deals effectively. Does anyone have any pro tips on what I should be thinking about to get deals signed up for development opportunities.

Thanks in advance.

Brokers are generally pretty scuzzy and either won't be honest with you, or don't know the extent of the problems at a given site.  They're not fiduciaries and they don't take risk - which is a great combination to lead to you getting screwed.
