Resume critique please - Summer experience

Would really appreciate any critiques on my resume...

Updated this after summer internship at top BB, and I have no idea how to write about my summer experience - how much details to put, what to leave out etc...

Thanks!

Hi 2nd year at a BB.

Format is pretty impressive. I might use some for my own resume.

Work Experience, not Experiences

Focus on 1. impact on your group 2. achievements. Get rid of useless bullets. Anything that starts with "Assisted" or "Worked on". Use action verbs: presented, analyzed, created, etc. Don't just talk about tasks, talk about what they were used for and what was the result.

Depending on what you want to do after, tailor it accordingly. If it's banking, add some general overview bullets to talk about what the group does and your role in it. I don't know what those groups do off the top of my head and I'm not going to spend time thinking about it or looking it up.

Make sure your months are all formatted correctly. You use three letter formatting some places and spell the complete word out in others. It looks like "July 2010" and "April 2011" need to be fixed.

Also, put Expected May 2012 on your Education date instead of what you have.

I don't think you need Physics or Lit SAT IIs on there.

For all your rotations, I would call them "Equity One Delta Trading Rotation" or something like that instead of what you have there.

FICC Rotation:

  • Reword bullet #1 so your research info is at the front of bullet.

  • Does the E in Equity need to be capitalized?

Equity One Delta:

  • What markets? Be specific.

  • Your #2 bullet needs to be more specific.

Equity Derivatives:

  • Why is there a semi-colon in bullet #1? What kind of ideas did you present? Why?

Global Macro Sales:

  • Take out the comma after top clients.

  • How did you assist?

Dance Studio:

  • Take out "particularly during transitional period"

  • How about some current bullet points? What's going on now? How is the studio functioning? Increase in revenues/customers?

Tournament:

  • Does "tracking error" need to be plural?

  • You finished 1st out of how many competitors?

SWS:

  • Bullet #1 is not worded very well. Scrap it and start over.

  • How did your marketing efforts end up? Increase in members?

Investment Institute:

I think you can take out the NYSE: part. Leave the ticker symbol but you don't need that.

How have your pitches performed since your recommendations? Were you right in pitching them as shorts/longs?

Change "as well as" to "and".

Any interests not related to computers or finance? You come off as very Asian on your resume. Are you a native English speaker? I know your resume says so but the way some of your bullets are worded makes me wonder.

You have a decent start but you have a ton of room for improvement. If you have no bullet points for three of your activities, you can probably cut them. If you think they are important, then why don't they have any follow up information?

Your bullets are too wordy and don't have enough quantifiable data in them.
