Athletics

As a student at an Ivy with a 3.5 GPA, but also a varsity starting athlete on the football team, is this athletic commitment deemed as a positive or negative when applying to top MBA programs? Football has not allowed me to join as many clubs or gain as many leadership positions as I would have otherwise but I am vp of our investment club, and an oficer in a fraternity. More or less, is athletics a good plug or should I scrap mentioning it when applying?
