B-School Waitlist

Just found out today I'm on the waitlist for a top five B-school. Anyone have any advice or recommendations about going from this state of limbo to making it in the next or final round?

Much appreciated, thanks.

You should check out businessweek's b-school forum. If you cant sift through the misinformation you should be able to get some valuable advice regarding wait lists. That guy Sandy is pretty helpful, he has his own thread. You will also note that a lot of the advice is school specific. For example, some schools value additional information you may send in (additional letter of reco from an alum or donor, updated GMAT scores, etc.) while others are adamantly against you sending them more "stuff" and may hold it against you. BEst of luck

Let them know that you're interested, and submit additional material if it will help your application. this could be a higher GMAT score, extra letter of recommendation, achievement at work, etc. Also visit the school.

The key is to express interest and show perseverance.

The odds of getting off the waitlist are lower for some schools than others. At wharton and booth, they usually accept about a third of the waitlisted applicants. At HBS, Stanford, Columbia, it's MUCH lower.
