Bocconi Msc Finance Scholarship Question
Planning to apply to EU/UK Msc Finance programs for next year (Sep 2026) after 6-9 months of off-cycles I have set up, permitted I don't receive a return offer (unlikely). I heard that Bocconi is generous with scholarships for internationals if you have good enough stats, like giving 50-100% scholarships to ppl for their flagship Msc Finance program.
Is this true? If so, what kind of background do you need to get something like this? What GMAT Focus score is good enough?
For reference, i'm graduating this year (2025) from a strong UK semi with a non-finance/STEM degree and will be applying with 1 MM IB OC + 2 LMM IB SAs on my resume. Don't speak Italian or any other language.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, Bocconi is indeed known for offering scholarships to international students, including 50-100% tuition waivers for their flagship MSc Finance program. However, these scholarships are highly competitive and typically awarded to candidates with exceptional profiles. Here's what you need to know:
Academic Background: A strong academic record is crucial. While you’re coming from a non-finance/STEM degree, graduating from a strong UK semi-target university can work in your favor, especially if your GPA is high.
GMAT Score: A competitive GMAT score is essential. For Bocconi, a GMAT score in the range of 700+ is generally considered strong for scholarship consideration. Given the competitive nature of scholarships, aiming for the higher end (e.g., 720+) would improve your chances.
Work Experience: Your experience with 1 MM IB off-cycle and 2 LMM IB summer analyst roles is a solid foundation. Bocconi values relevant finance experience, and this will strengthen your application.
Languages: While not speaking Italian or other languages won’t disqualify you, being multilingual can sometimes be an added advantage in competitive applications.
Other Factors: Extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and a well-crafted personal statement can also play a significant role in securing scholarships. Highlighting your unique experiences and career goals aligned with Bocconi’s program will be key.
In summary, with your background, a strong GMAT score (ideally 720+), and a compelling application, you could be a strong candidate for Bocconi’s scholarships.
