Breaking into IB from Law
Hi all,
I am a second year/sophomore at a top 5 UK university studying law, where I have top grades and offers from three T20 law firms.
However, I really am more interested by finance and want to break into IB in London
I landed an internship in PE over the last summer which I converted to a part-time role alongside my studies; I have run two startups to varying success over the years. In short, my experience and interests lead me to believe I am more suited to IB than law.
However, I did not apply to SA roles this year as I was focussing on securing a law offer, which I now have. These are my main questions:
- Can you land IB roles without SA experience?
- Can I land a SA role in my final year by saying I want to do a masters?
I would appreciate any help with these questions, or just general advice regarding making the switch from law to IB.
Many thanks in advance
