BSc transition

I have a Bachelor in Agricultural Sciences however I am looking to do an MSc Finance, preferably in Europe. I dont have any work experience however I have a 700 GMAT and 3.8 GPA from McGill University.

Does anyone have any program suggestions? not limited to LSE

drexelalum11I'd recommend doing a search on the board, it's been asked several times before.

I can tell you that those qualifications won't get you in to the LSE MSc Finance program.

What am I missing for LSE? Do you think there's a chance for the MPhil Finance at Cambridge?

I mean, I'm not an admissions officer, so can't answer those questions perfectly, but a lack of work experience is really going to hold you back. Most/all of the guys doing MSc Fin at LSE/Oxbridge have several years work experience, particularly this year when so many laid-off bankers from the city decided to hide in school for a year.

This is not necessarily true. While having some solid internship will boast your chances of admission, I would not say that most/all of the students doing these programs have several years work experience. These programs are labeled as "pre-professional" programs with the average age being between 22-24. This is true, however, of the MSc Finance program at LBS, which requires two years solid work experience.

Both the MPhil at Cambridge and MFE at Oxford tend to be more academic. Competition for admission into these programs are extremely fierce. I believe both of these programs require a first class degree and have an average GMAT score in the 710+ range.

I would check the postgraduate message boards at the UK student room. You should be able to find more information there about various MSc finance programs in the UK and Europe.

Just apply and find out. Everyone asks "what are my odds", but no one knows for sure. Send in the 50-100 bucks for the application and find out once and for all.
