Yes, particularly if you have a background in energy and/or personal ties to Texas. There’s a few CBS grads I’ve run into in Houston, but definitely more from Booth. Booth does well usually in energy banking for some reason.
Still possible, but you will have to craft a solid reason for “why energy?” and “why Houston?”, because those are the first two (and most important) questions you will be asked in every conversation. Keeping up with energy trends and being able to speak intelligently about the industry is also important to show your interest. Lastly, you will have to make a couple trips on your own to TX during recruiting to prove you are serious about Houston banking.
Happy to answer any other specific questions you have. I broke into a top energy BB from a top 15 MBA program and am very involved in MBA recruiting this year for my bank.

Thanks but what if I don't have energy background or personal ties to Texas ie just really interested in energy IB?

Thanks!
Could you please tell me how you did it? Thanks again!
Yeah, sure.
I have run into a handful of guys from Booth at Citi in Houston over the years - I think they recruit there steadily.
