Still possible, but you will have to craft a solid reason for “why energy?” and “why Houston?”, because those are the first two (and most important) questions you will be asked in every conversation. Keeping up with energy trends and being able to speak intelligently about the industry is also important to show your interest. Lastly, you will have to make a couple trips on your own to TX during recruiting to prove you are serious about Houston banking.
