CANADA,ON: Not Going To A Target School !!!
I am going to be a freshman entering my first year in Canada at a college that offers a University degree. I will be studying for a Bachelor of Commerce - Finance. My question is how reliable is this in getting a big name job in investment banking in Canada or a good job in Canada. My goal is to be making over 125,000 a year eventually and im not sure what jobs i can get or if employers will not be looking at me because of the school i attended.. Also how much would it help if my grades were out standing?
I suggest you to read the FAQ first before posting. Thanks.
First of all, this is an American based site. This is a stupid thread. But to answer your question, the odds are against you to say the very least. Go to Queens or Ivey if you want a good finance job in Canada.
If your goal is to make 125000, then you could also do corp fin etc. 125000 isn't really that hard to earn in Canada/US if you have some skills, brain power and a little bit of luck.
You might want to consider transferring. Maybe start over in the UK?
