Chances for LSE MSc A&F ?
Hello everyone,
I’ve already sent my application file to Bocconi’s MSc in Finance. I would like to now send a file to a B-school in the UK. I think Cass and Imperial programs are too expensive and the returns in terms of reputation and placement opportunities are not that high. This is why I am thinking about LSE. Since I can’t ask dozens referees to send dozens of different reference letters, I would really like you to assess my chances to get accepted in the LSE master programs in Accounting and Finance.
Here is my profile :
• Top tier university in France in economics and finance. Got a BSc in economics without honours. I am now enrolled in a part time master program in financial engineering and I have good grades but not awesome. I’ll be just above the limit mentioned by LSE on its international applicants requirement page.
• One year spent in Bucharest. Got awesome grades there, learnt the language, etc…
• Internships : 3 in Paris in back office for mutual funds and performance analysis and 1 in Romania in the asset allocation team of an insurance company.
• I work as an asset allocation analyst in one of the most important French banking groups. I study opportunities and make investment recommendations. Very good position, with exposition to many interesting topics and different asset classes ( I will elaborate more in the personal statement ;) ).
• EC : Member of the computers room management service of my university, programming contests, guitar teacher and member of a rock band.
• GMAT : 680, TOEFL : 115
So, do you think it is worth applying ?
Thanks !
up :)
