Chances of getting in to Cambridge's MPhil Finance?
I'm a recent graduate from University of East Anglia with a first class degree in Business Finance. I also decided to improve my work experience and have landed a financial analyst role at a real estate developer, mainly focusing on financial appraisals and investment analysis.
Doing a masters in finance was the main goal of mine and I have applied for MSc Finance at Lancaster and Strathclyde (although my finance lecturer told me to apply to LSE, Imperial, etc. but I don't have the funds).
Obviously my top 1 choice is MPhil Finance at Cambridge to which I applied two weeks ago. I have seen people applying to this course with impressive resumes and have a feeling that in my case I have much smaller chances.
Would you say I have at least a shot at getting in to this course compared to applicants who landed an offer?
What's your average? I think that you will need to have 75%+ to have a realistic chance of getting in as they place so much emphasis on academics. They will also be looking at how quanty your undergrad degree was as well.
Side note - Warwick Msc Finance often give away 50% scholarships if you apply there early if funds are an issue.
