Columbia Business School's Value Investing Program

Has anyone here enrolled in their value investing program, either in-person or online? If you have, would love to hear your feedback, particularly on how effective it is in opening recruiting doors.

Thanks.

What program are you referring to?

If you're referring to the VI (value investing program) that is within the full time MBA (you take it as a second year full time MBA if you are accepted), it's 100% worthwhile and effective for recruiting.

If you're referring to a program that's exec ed and anyone can take it, that sounds like a cash cow and it not open any recruiting doors.

I wasn't in the VI program, but had plenty of classmates who were.  The opportunities (networking, speakers, lecturers, case competitions, etc.) this group was afforded was second to none.  If you end up in the VI program and don't get a role at a hedge fund, trading group or some kind of buy-side firm, it is completely your fault.

My classmates had opportunities to meet with, present to and interact with individuals like Loeb, Ackman, Einhorn, Klarman, etc. I could go on. With that said, getting to meet one of these people doesn't mean you get a job. It is a rigorous and competitive program, however everyone I know who went through it is collegial with one another, helps where possible and still in touch 5-10+ years post grad.
