Columbia MBA vs NYU MBA

I really have a high location preference to live near NYU and just want to be back in the East Village and skateboard to class or something. Columbia seems like a cool school to be in the city, but damn it’s so far up in Manhattan - I’m not a big fan of the area but it’s ok.

Which would you choose and why?

Columbia because it's more prestigious. Why not apply to Tuck?

I’d prefer to be in NYC.

Depends on the which colleges give you what. One is an M7 other one is T10 (depends on the ranking). While Columbia (Ivy league) is more prestigious compared to NYU, they can both get you the jobs you want - given you qualify and network.

So for me it would have to come down to scholarship amount. If you did not get scholarship, it would have to be Columbia for me - just because of the prestige. BUT you should be able to negotiate to get a scholarship and leverage your acceptance from both schools

Yeah I agree with this. I would rather live in the east village but west village to Columbia commute isn’t that bad. Columbia definitely has more preftige. I could do west village for 2 years.
