diversity recruiting

Hey guys, I am going to Penn state for financial reason ( you can see the thread) and people told me that I have a big advantage because of it, but I am still not sure how it works. can anybody tell me how diversity recruiting works and what exactly do I have to do to be prepared.

As far as I know, diversity recruiting mainly takes the form of speciality summer programs. I believe you can apply to these summer programs a year earlier than standard investment banking internships so they help you get experience early (and from what I've heard help get you a spot for the following summer's full-fledged IB internship). There are different types of diversity programs like some are only for LGBTQ+ people and others are for ethnic minorities. I don't know how competitive they are, but generally if you can do them they're great.
