Does exchange school’s prestige matter?

I am currently at a non-target Canadian. I have the opportunity to go to a target in UK for a year. Should I take it? Downside is I will be missing on my school's finance club's leadership positions and Toronto networking. I won’t be getting “life changing experience” either. It’s UK not some exotic place.

I don’t think anyone would really care about the prestige of a study abroad program outside of maybe a full year at Oxford or something

Doesn't make a difference, you're still a Southbank student. You just decided to LARP in America for a little bit. Also if someone did go southbank they wouldn't have the grades for summers/grad schemes anyway i'd assume

If it’s just a typical 1 semester exchange program then I doubt it. I feel like most of the prestige from schools is just that it’s hard to get in, so by studying there you are already somewhat “vetted”. Exchange programs don’t accept/reject students based on typical criteria (at least the exchange semester I went on) so I doubt it means anything. Just go on exchange where you wanna go, and I guess take relevant classes to put on your resume if you really want any boost. But exchange should be about having a good time not grinding career stuff.
