Double Major in Mathematics Bs and Finance Bs
I started my freshman year with a finance major and a Computer Science minor hoping to break into the quant industry. I did some more research and I learned that more traditional STEM majors were preferred. I did a lot of planning and research and learned that I could finish a double major in Applied mathematics (I love math btw) and finance in 5 years(1 extra year of college). Keep in mind that my financial math specialization makes some classes count for both majors and my main goal is to become a quant analyst that works in the finance industry. In that time frame, I would also be able to pull off a minor in CS. What does the finance community think about this, overkill or just right?
