ESCP bachelor: Advice on what to do
Hello everyone,
I’m about to start my bachelor’s at ESCP, but I recently learned about the whole Prépa → Grande École route in France. It seems like the bachelor’s degree doesn’t really carry much weight.
I won't be spending much money on tuition as I got a financial aid scholarship, making it relatively cheap( ~ 8,000 per year). At this point, switching schools isn’t on the table.
I am not sure what I want to do as a career, and it's probably not IB(possibly consulting). All advice and honest takes are appreciated. Thanks!
Bachelors don't hold weight in France... if you go this route you will be better off doing an MSc abroad. Yes, in France the system works with prepa + PGE... at the rythm that French corporates and HR move it will not change any time soon... Would be better to do a bachelor outside France if you want to go this route and apply again next year and then apply to the PGE....
Just go abroad for masters after you have a clearer idea of what you want to do. Looks great on the CV, plus opens up new markets.
LBS, Bocconi, HSG etc. (depending on your target market) are great for consulting and should be easily achievable after.
