FIU(Florida International University) vs. Top Schools

So I'm currently going to school at FIU(Florida International University) for my CFAA(Certificate in Foundations of Accounting and Auditing) which is baisically a fast tracked grad program for non-accounting majors who want to get there Master's degree in Accountancy. I was a Finance undergrad at FSU(Florida State University)

The MACC and MST programs at FIU guarantee acceptance and waive your GMAT exam requirement if you have 3.2 GPA or higher. I currently have a 3.7.

My question to all you monkeys is...Am I much better off taking my GMAT's and going to a top tier accounting school, or is the degree from FIU going to take me to the same places career wise as lets say UI-Urbana-Champaign, or USC?( Two schools I am particular interested in.)

Also I have not been able to find a reference that compiles the top accounting schools up to any higher than Top 10...anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks for your help

Fellow FIU alum here...if you want to do Big 4 in South Florida, you are golden. However, for investment banking or other high finance fields, you need to network, and network aggressively.

How about outside the realm of South Florida?.I am interested in seeing what other places have to offer, considering I've been here my whole life.

Outside of South FL, not so helpful...seriously consider the other programs (provided you can get in).

FSU grad here . Definitely check out other schools . I have a degree from and EastCoast school with good placement in High Finance. Big 4, MBB,GS etc. diversity in geographic location of degree helps

All things are possible with Him i have to deal

If you just want to get Big 4, there is always UF for MAcc (or MSF if something above Big 4).
Despite my hate for the Gators, I recognize that UF is a great school, however I am more interested in living in a bigger city than Gainesville.
