France Business School Master Ranking

A thread about studies in France has already been made, but let's focus here on Business School in France (no engineering schools) and their placements in Paris.

First, let's explain the programmes : In France, you'll have mainly people coming out of 3 programmes : -Programme Grande École (PGE/MiM, it's the same) : the flagship programme of French business schools, you join it after two years of classes preparatoire or a bachelor degree (usually at the university).

-Mfin/MscFin/MiF: all the names for the master in Finance programmes

-BBA/Bsc : a bachelor degree in a French business schools is NOT the same as a bachelor degree at a French University, and absolutely NOT the same as the PGE or MIF programmes, even if the school seems strong (EDHEC for example).

Some people manage anyway to get good internships as recruiters in London seems to not make a huge difference (and things like diversity help too).

I'll also include Dauphine (a university) and Sciences Po.

Ranking :

Tier 1 : HEC MiM/MiF ESSEC MiM ESCP MiM

3 stellar programmes. Some would say that HEC has an edge (it's true), but ESSEC and ESCP also allow you to apply and be invited to interviews everywhere.

Tier 1,5: Sciences Po Master Finance Dauphine Master in Finance (225 and 203 are top notch)

All solid programs here, maybe less international students friendly.
Sciences Po still Sciences Po and Dauphine is highly considered in Paris

Tier 1,5 or 2 ESSEC/ESCP MiF Will depend of your background, but if not too trash (French BBA even works), you'll pass screenings in the majority of banks

Tier 2 : EDHEC MiM EM Lyon MiM

EDHEC is stronger and stronger. EM lyon still target despite the organisational downfall of the school.

Tier 3 : Audencia MiM Skema MiM Grenoble MiM

Huge gap between tier 2 and tier 3. A mix of historically quite good school (Audencia), a rising one (SKEMA) and a just falling one (Grenoble).

In this tier, you won't get interviews easily. You'll have to network as a spider and be very solid to get interviews. At this tier, most American banks and top boutique won't look at your cv unless you have a solid experience.

Tier 4 : The rest.
