Georgetown vs Notre Dame - Need Opinions

Advising a family friend from a Jesuit private HS debating between Notre Dame REA and Georgetown EA. Which school would be better in terms of placement, both how easy it is and overall quality. Know very little about either school so need opinions.

Depends on how much of the "Catholic experience" they want and if they want to be in DC vs. Indiana.

Georgetown will give you much less of a targeted religious experience. It absolutely exists if you want it, but it's not as if Catholicism pervades every classroom experience. Contacts at ND have told me that Catholicism is much more central there.

In terms of finance recruiting, both schools will present you ample opportunities across IB/PE. As a Georgetown student, I got interviews at many of the notable banks and am heading to an EB full time next year. I would imagine ND is much the same, but if that's the central thing your friend is worried about Georgetown is not a bad place to be.

Lastly, Georgetown's strength is not only the b-school and finance, but how those topics intersect with foreign affairs / politics, not to mention the quality of the SFS and government majors. Don't know as much about the quality of the ND classroom experience but, again, would imagine that you'd get a top-tier education. If it was me, I'd choose between the two based on desired student experience.

I'd take Georgetown imo, better brand both in and out of finance. Also very easy to place at Georgetown even if you aren't in clubs or anything like that. Very helpful alumni base and mentorship is big

If your friend is a Catholic, ND is one of the best places to be. If your friend likes to be in a city, no-brainer Georgetown. Let's be real here, both schools have similar placements, so there shouldn't be any dick-measuring contest. Tour the campus first, then decide whether or not to commit to the EA options.

Georgetown for sure. If he is competitive for this level of college, then definitely shoot for a school like Georgetown (I think better than ND). Similar places to be for finance placement and both have great cultures. I just think the Gtown name carries more weight later in the career. Also DC is a crazy amazing place to be.
