Grad role or MSc Finance

Hello everyone,

I am currently studying at a non-target uni in the UK and I’m about to enter my final year (after spending a year studying abroad at a semi-target in Europe). Either I apply to grad roles, or I do a masters at a target (hopefully) + a summer internship for 2025.

My ambition is to break into IB, and I feel the internship / master’s route would put me in the best position (as I come from a non-target and only have local VC / AM internships). Or I apply to grad roles now and hope I can get into IB down the line.

Would appreciate anyone’s thoughts on this, and whether IB is even realistic with either option.

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. Would you still recommend the master’s option if it was at Warwick for example. I’m planning on applying to a range of master’s for safety. Warwick would be a step up from my current undergrad so is it still worth it even though it’s not a top target?
