GRE Score for LBS/Oxford Master’s

Hi all,

I took a cold GRE (no prep) and got 322, planning to retake in 3 weeks so I’ll have the results before R1 deadlines for master’s applications.

Any colour on target scores for LBS MFA or Oxford MFE? Hoping to score well as I lack work experience but am strong academically.

There’s more GMAT discussion than GRE on here so I thought I’d just ask.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights regarding GRE scores for LBS MFA and Oxford MFE:

  • Oxford MFE: The program is very academic and places well in IB, Consulting, and occasionally PE. The requirements include a GMAT score of over 720, which suggests a high GRE score would also be necessary. Given the competitive nature, aiming for a GRE score equivalent to a GMAT of 720+ would be advisable.

  • LBS MFA: This program is career-focused with excellent placement across the finance spectrum. The requirements include a GMAT score of over 680, with work experience highly valued. For the GRE, targeting a score that translates to a GMAT of 680+ would be a good benchmark.

Given your strong academic background but lack of work experience, a high GRE score will be crucial to strengthen your application. Aim for a GRE score that aligns with the high GMAT scores mentioned above to enhance your chances of admission.
