How did your PE funds do at HSW this year?
Just curious, how did your PE funds do with H/S/W placement? Am wondering whether or not it's getting more competitive.

I'm at an MBB shop. Though not PE, think it still falls into the same bucket of "highly competitive, ultra type A" feeder industry. I think there was virtually no difference in placement at HSW this year vs. the last couple, but it is still far worse than the early 2000s and what we still show in recruiting materials (>50% placement at H/S). My sense is that there is some active diversification away from consulting and IB/PE, but MBB are also growing so quickly (double digits per year) that even if HSW are accepting the same number of analysts on an absolute basis, the proportion of the MBB class going to HSW is still declining given the increasing class sizes.
