How does LBS MBA IB/MBB recruiting work?

I've heard that there's no formal OCR in UK as in the US and networking almost never works for large banks/firms. So how does it happen? Do they have to apply online to every position?

You heard incorrectly. Every single BB with a European office along with all the consulting firms, not just MBB, recruit on campus.

LBS is Top 2 in Europe. Every company > 1,000 employees that hires MBAs recruits on campus.

I have a friend who is currently attending. OCR for certain geographical locations (e.g., Google APAC), happens right from the beginning of Term 1, Year 1.

I heard that some BB's in London don't do MBA recruiting anymore, at all.

Then why do people say that recruiting works differently in UK as in there's no active OCR? Or is that just the case for LSE masters?
