How much do diversity events help for IB Recruiting?
Sophomore at a non-target who will be recruiting for IB this summer. I don't exactly fit the traditional diversity criteria but fit the description enough for a couple of banks. I went to a few diversity events last semester and this semester. I was wondering how much exactly does going to these events help with the recruiting? Is it a massive leg up or just something that will help during initial resume screens?
Thanks in advance.
It is a MASSIVE leg up on other applicants. The biggest issue with a non-target is not having an extensive alumni network at the place you're applying to but in my experience the diversity events that you attend make up for that and more. It gets you in the interview room, after that it's all up to you to perform.
