How to get Interest from Elite Schools for Chicago BB?
Know similar posts have been made in the past but curious on how to do this. Currently at a well regarded BB in Chicago and it feels like we only see resumes from IU/UIUC/Wisconsin/OSU/etc and a couple Michigan/ND here and there. How do we start getting more resumes from 'elite' (for lack of a better word) schools in the mix? I think I maybe saw a handful of resumes total from UChicago/Northwestern and Ivies total this past cycle. Feels like we're losing talent from the schools that we visit / target that are in our own 'backyard' which is frustrating.
You do realize this forum is full of college kids right?
why hire an entitled arrogant kid from uchicago or northwestern when you can hire a grinder or someone grateful to be at your bank from the other schools u mentioned?
.
Also rising senior at an Ivy, 3.8 GPA, interested in moving back. Echoing comment above, there's no alumni base and hit rates are horrible for Chi. If looking for a FT 2026 analyst, please DM + would be interested!
You think you are missing out by hiring state school kids?
And I thought Chicago was supposed to be chill compared to NYC.
Big chunk of my team is state school. Harvard isn't even a target school for us but a state school is. This post is so low IQ.
Rising senior from UChicago/Northwestern, hoping to live in Chicago after graduation. Please DM if your team is possibly looking for a 2026 FT analyst!
To answer your question, unfortunately most kids from my school nowadays are going for NYC for SA and really only the people born and raised in the Midwest look to stay here post-graduation.
