My younger brother got into both of these as an international student. Just wondering what the views were on here on these two schools specifically on recruiting. He wants to be open to both IBD and S&T (Sales).
The coursework for IE Spain seems more quantitative than Rochester, with the latter being more focused on corporate finance.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
The standard answer here, for this sort of question at least, is IE if you want to work in Europe and Rochester if you want to work in NY. That being said, I think IE Spain, though I don't know much about it, is probably the better program.
IE Spain is a really good program for Europe. I'd probably lean that way if your brother is European or British. If he is Indian or Chinese I might lean towards Rochester. The economy in the US is better than Europe and Spain, and while it might be hard to get FO IBD positions from U Rochester as an International in this economy, the ability to get a good, normal job is there.
Thanks guys. Do you know if people have been able to obtain FO IBD / S&T / AM positions out of IE Spain. I couldn't find a lot of people on linkedin from the program to make a conclusion.
Rochester seems to be geared more towards corporate finance positions with about a quarter of the class going into IBD / S&T (not sure if this is FO or not from the information the school provides.)
Assuming one is agnostic wrt geography, which college do you think provides better career opportunities assuming he takes advantage of the school fully and graduates near top of the class.
