IE University MIM

I would like to apply for IE MIM. Is IE MIM a target for MBB and IB? What would be my chances at London recruiting? I will have 2 YOE of big4 M&A in CEE when attending IE. Also thinking about a double degree MIM + MSF there. Do you think it is a better option?

I would strongly advise against IE MiM if you’re thinking of London.

London MBB is really hard to get into at the Master’s level because they tend to mainly take target undergrads from Oxbridge, LSE, and Imperial. The only Master’s that could give you a slim chance would be the LBS MiM.

Regarding IB, your best bet would be a UK MFin (LSE/Imperial/LBS) as all the banks will recognize these names, and you will be invited to their networking events at the beginning of the recruiting season.

The only Continental Europe MFin that I would consider as a non-local speaker is HEC MFin. Bocconi, HSG, and RSM mainly place people from their respective countries.

I'm currently in a similar situation as OP, but not looking to get into the top jobs, and not sure which country I'd like to work in. Do you think Mfin from IE would open doors in Tier 2 IB in DACH/Benelux/UK?

Agreed I would also vote against IE as as a school. Crazy expensive and not great placements, you have better alternatives within Continental Europe HSG, RSM, Bocconi or SSE. I could not a agree more with French-monkey :)
