Imperial MSc Finance and Accounting Career Prospects

Hey guys,

Just received an offer for Imperial's MSc Finance and Accounting. From browsing around the forum, I'm aware it's not as prestigious as the MSc Finance, but I was wondering what the general outlook on the program is at the moment and what could be expected from it career-wise. Other options still pending.

Stalking on LinkedIn hasn't yielded promising results, but then again most kids lack relevant experience, as opposed to the more polished MSc Finance admits.

For context, I'll have 3 years of full-time M&A IB experience at a boutique by the time SA/FT applications start opening up in the summer. Mega non-target undergrad at a small EU country.

Would greatly appreciate any insights. Thanks everyone!

Did you get rejected from the MSc Finance programme and get accepted to this one?

Given that you have 3 years M&A experience, you are set up quite well for SA applications. The Imperial brand name + this experience will push you forward, even if its a slight step down from the pure finance programme.

I work at a BB in London and can tell you the prospects are the same for those two Masters. For IB, the banks won’t bother that much about your program but about your school brand name (less true in Markets).

If you have professional experience + the Imperial brand, you should have a very good shot. Banks generally only invite Imperial/LSE/LBS students to their events in London.

I know there is a student on the current A+F who has an offer for Houlihan SA position and he is the only one on his course with that offer there. I know this is minimal insight but it is all I have unfortunately.
