Imperial MSc Finance and Accounting - Opinions, Reputation, is it Target, Advice...

Hey guys, hope all is going well.

I'll make this short and straightforward, don't want to bother you too much

I recently got accepted to ICBS's MSc FA. Finance was my first choice, but they recommended me to FA instead. In the meantime I accepted the offer, and I'll definitely be going to Imperial. Besides this, I have a bachelor's from a target EU Business School, and 7 month internship experience in Big 4 Audit.

What is Imperial's reputation in London, but also what is the reputation of this program? Will this program help me get interviews, considering I don't have prior IB experience? Would it be considered target, up there with LBS and LSE?

Finally, for the advice question:

I was wondering what I can do to best prepare for this program considering I hope to secure a summer internship in 2026, and hopefully stay in London after that with a full time position. I'm interested in IB, of course, but I'm also very interested in S/T, more specifically Sales. I networked a bit for s/t and many told me I'd be a good fit, so I started considering it more and more over the past few months. Could this programme help me break into this. As stated above, I'm open to both industries, although I know people usually want one or the other....

Everyone please feel free to voice your opinion in the comments and let me know. Every comment is super appreciated. Thank you so much!!

The only target unis on a MSc level in the UK are LSE, LBS and Oxbridge. Imperial is a target at undergraduate level, but at MSc level it is a semi-target at best.

Idk why ICBS receives that much hate from LSE & LBS grads. Truth is it's a top target program in London, at least in the two BBs I've worked for. I personally graduated from a Dutch uni but have many friends who wen to these unis in London for their Masters - they all ended up in EB/BBs or even directly on the buy-side. With your profile you'll have a pretty decent chance to land a BB Summer but I'll also heavily target the Off-cycles in IB/PE/PC given you'll have a graduate visa and undergrads can't compete for those.
