Trump administration on Monday unveiled new rules for foreign students, requiring them to take in-person classes in order to remain in the US. Foreigners with F-1 or M-1 visas will not be renewed for them to stay in the country if their school is virtual.

Hi there another fellow international student. If you dont have the equivalent of full time enrollment 12+ in person you wont be able to stay in the US with a F-1 or M-1 Visa. I advise you to speak to the international student office at your university so they can guide you with your specific situation.
This technically doesn't apply to me, but I would love to commiserate with you. This sucks
That sounds like the dumbest thing ever from a both economic and public health perpective, international students bring foreign money into the US and the US is one of the country that will have the highest number of its citizens exposed to the virus anyways.
In summary, trump being trump. The only reason I see Trump doing this is because over time he wants to close the US education system to foreign students.
