internships and universities

I plan on going to school in nyc, does the university i go to have a huge impact on the internships i land.
Obviously a school like nyu stern will allow be to get better internships on wall street, but can schools like Pace and Fordham have that same type of impact.
Also does it sometimes depend on the person and not the school he or shes from

You're definitely better off at Fordham. Pace is a disaster. The best recruiting Pace has is for back office positions, which you still have to be top of the class to get because everyone within the school applies for them. If you want a decent internship in FO finance, it will be up to you to find it. That means networking and applying on your own. I wouldn't expect recruiters to come and find you at the school.

So, it kinda matters what school you go to but at the end of the day your on your own btw im in high school and im pretty sure i wanna be a trader or work for a hedge fund and possibly take it to the next level any advice for that (like what i should do in college to get closer to those career paths)
