yes - check out LBS's MFA, the course prepares you for Level 1 and it says that having it is advantageous towards your app.
LBS's MFA also waives GMAT requirement if you have Level 1.
Overall no, I think the LBS case above is an exception. LSE, Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and UCL don't mention it. Then again, I get the feeling the LBS course if for those with a bit more work experience already than the other courses so that may be a factor.
If you are dead-set on going for the CFA Charter it's probably worth it. But we are talking at least a couple hundred hours of studying, probably closer to 300 and the test has around a 45% pass rate. You may already be aware of everything Level I entails, but definitely look into it fully before you commit as it does take up quite a bit of time and money.
