How is NYU with How is a school with 57k student body and a roughly 31-35% admissions rate not considered a public university??

You're asking two different questions here. NYU isn't a public school - it's private. Next, NYU itself is not prestigious. Its business school, Stern, is.
Can anyone else think of a college with a student body over 57,000?? Because we might have to reach out to Guinness World Records to open up a new entry because I cannot think of a school with a bigger student body. By next year NYU will have over 60k students in it.
It is a public school. NYU also goes by SUNY Greenwich.
