Kaplan GMAT

Anyone have any experiance with the free Kaplan CAT gmat practice tests? Took one tonight and got a 700. Are they harder or easier then the real thing?

My guess is that they are easier, because they use the score as a basis for their higher score guarentee, but I want to hear thoughts from people who have actually taken the GMAT.

I just want to write to say that this Kaplan course was a great class experience. I was a little hesitant in signing up for a Kaplan class because I wasn't sure how much more value it would provide in comparison to just studying and practicing by myself but in the end I'm very happy that I signed up. I liked the way Kaplan has structured the course such that it breaks up the types of questions and the ways in which they were asked. Kaplan has clearly put in a lot of thought and effort into designing the Advanced GMAT course. The best predictor of your score will be the CATs from mba.com. I found the Kaplan tests to be a pretty good gauge of where you are. I'd say the math feels slightly easier and verbal is on par with the real thing. Apparently their tests used to score you a lot lower but they readjusted their algorithm so it's more accurate now.

I also found the Manhattan CATs to be really helpful. Their explanations and score analyses really help drill down into your weak areas and helped me a lot.

One thing you absolutely can't prepare for is the feeling you'll have on the actual test day. Nerves, pressure, lack of sleep b/c you thought about it the night before, etc all play a big factor in your performance. Also, make sure you're used to writing the AWA before in your practice exams. It's easy to get worn down by the test if you're not used to keeping your focus for that long.
