I would sat that range is about right. If you live a student lifestyle (i.e shared flat, cooking/eating cheap, travelling public transport) you can manage in £1200 a month bare minimum. The main expense will be rental, you can possibly find around a room 700ish a month around (Finchley Road/West Hampstead) - i.e 15 mins from LBS campus.
I would say you would need £1400 a month for a decent life style in London but obv you could spend upto 2k if you prefer living on campus and eating out using dry cleaners etc.
