Lying about extra curriculars

Hi, I am at a target in with a position at one of the top finance societies although not the biggest name and not that tangent to Investment Banking. We work a lot with some of the other clubs that are tangent to IB and I have been directly involved with some of them in admin/organizing & hosting events/discussions.

Is it fine to list the bigger and tangent society on my CV too? I feel like it would get way more eyes and also shows more interest. Wondering how much UK recruiters care about this/does it actually make a difference given that I have done work for them anyways. This is for SA26 recruiting. Thanks!

it does not make a difference at all. No one looking at your resume will give you an interview because you are in a particular society.

Keep in mind the risk of having an interviewer seeing said society on your resume and reaching out to someone in it to see if you’re a good guy/gal. No good if they come up empty on that check

Agree but these societies are massive and I know previous people in charge due to working with them a few times
