MAJOR grading mistake by top University

Hello everyone.

I have an issue I was wondering if anyone can advise me about.

I recently graduated from a top target in Europe for finance and I have proof that they made two mistakes with my grades. After I got my results in the summer I requested information about my grades for 3 courses which is something the university provides.

The email that the university sent me proves that I got a FAIL for one course when really, I had PASSED. It is mathematically impossible that I am wrong. Due to the nature of the mistake it is 99% certain that this mistake has happened with the whole class so it is possible that some students did not even graduate because of this mistake.

For another course I requested to see my exam and about a month later the university told me that there had been an error and they increased my grade. But they did not change it on my Transcript (which is what employers request).

I emailed the university about this at the end of August and after continuing to send them emails to fix my grades, the only reply I got was two weeks ago when they told me that it is taking long to fix my grades because the “staff is busy”…

Me and my father worked very hard to save money for me to study there. I had to take a loan and my father had to borrow money from friends too because my only goal was to get a very hard and rewarding job at one of the best companies. Instead I got wrong grades and 3 months after my results were released I still don’t have my right grades.

I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want too but even if sued the university it would not be the right answer and I don’t want to cause trouble but they don’t seem to care much about this issue and nothing is happening.

Any advice about what to do would be GREATLY appreciated.

Call the dean's office of your program, and keep calling until you get through. I'm assuming you're dealing with staff at the moment. Let them know the urgency of the situation (that it's preventing you from finding a job) and follow up every few days until resolved. Let them know about your interactions to date and that the issue has not received attention.

Don't email. Get on the phone. It's universally a more effective way at getting results. Mistakes happen, it takes on person who matters to care to get shit fixed.

Make sure you're professional and understanding to the deam. Let them light the fire.
