Masters of Financial Economics from Canadian school, anyone?
I am in my 4th year undergrad from non-target school in Canada but have internship experience at a pension fund and at a boutique IB . I dont have a full time offer but I got accepted to a masters of financial economics program at one of the schools in Ontario. Program is 16 mos, with 4 mos internship ending in December of next year, 50K tuition
What do you guys think is a better option?
- Accept but still look for jobs until the end of the summer? (Probably going to be bombarded during with course work during recruiting season)
- Don't accept, look harder for jobs?
I've talked to few IB contacts mostly mining who said the market doesnt look too good for jobs in toronto right now.
Any one have a MFE degree from a Canadian school? What are some career options? I know its more quant but I want to do IB.
Any advice will be appreciated!
Master of Financial Economics is not quant. Accept and look for jobs at the same time.
thanks for the advice, do you think CFA and Masters of Financial Economics overlap?
There's definitely overlap.
