There's a lot of conflicting info. Does anyone here have first hand insights on this ? I'll be heading to a target that doesn't have an undergrad business school. I'm not really deadset on anything right now, and want to keep options open.

Shouldn't be any conflicting info on this. I personally know of engineering / CS / math majors from Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Penn, Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown, Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, etc. in IB and/or PE (Penn and Cornell both have undergrad business schools). If you go to a good school, you should be able to study whatever you want as long as you can explain why you picked your major and why you want to do IB. The only downside is that it will likely be a bit harder to maintain a high GPA.
