MBA Quant Major vs. MBA/MS Program

I've been admitted to Wharton for the MBA program only, and admitted to another top 7 school for a joint MBA/MS program. In brief, I'm aiming to build out my quant skillset, but return to a fundamentally driven finance industry (IB/PE/VC) but in a quant-ier role post graduation.

My main question is, will employers give any credit for quantitative work / concentrations at MBA programs without the MS component? Can anyone here speak to who recruits from the quant programs at top b-schools?

Obviously, I will not be competitive for a purely quant role at say a HF, but most of the schools now offer very legitimate and rigorous-looking quant finance and analytics programs, and W lets you take classes at the Engineering school as well. I'm confident I can develop the skillset I need with the MBA program/courses only, but I won't have the MS piece of paper, basically. Trying to figure out how that impacts how i'll market myself.

Thanks!
