If all else were equal in regards to the admissions process, I would still take the GMAT because it can be used as a recruiting metric for after MIT. Also, it can get you into MBA programs if you apply within the same 5 year period.

Also check out some previous posts on MIT's MFin. I believe tuition is 80K and the program just rolled out this year.
