MS program for career switch

Hi,

I'm attending MIT SFMBA program next year, which will significantly improve my managerial skills - that's good. What i'm afraid of - i'm not satisfied with my area in general (business development and analytics in retail banking), and wondering whether it's too late to move from financial to research? Brain and Cognitive Sciences, AI, Aeronautics - any of them sounds more appealing than banking to me (sorry WSO).

So: 1) i'm not young (32); 2) i will have an MBA and good managerial skills/experience; 3) i would like to switch career from banking to research with the help of corresponding MS program (hopefully, at MIT); 4) biggest constraint: given my age and 10+ years of WE in banking (and managerial position there), i cannot afford working from the very starting positions in the new area (i.e., laboratory assistant).

So the question is: What are the areas that are most friendly to the career switchers, taking into account i will hopefully have an MS in that area, MBA and 10+ years of WE in analytics (propensity modelling, machine learning, etc)? What are the career opportunities? Working on an AI within the Brain and Cognitive Sciences department sounds like a dream to me, plus i feel that my analytical background might help me within this field.

Thanks!
