Multiple GMAT Questions
1) How much time should I budget to prepare (I'm taking it this summer)? I will not be taking a course, just buying some books. I'm a very good standardized test taker so I just need to get some practice. I do want to get a great score though so I was wondering how long people with similar traits to these studied before they sat for it.
2) How does signing up for the test work? Do I have to sign up far in advance or when I decide I'm ready can I just sign up for like the next day?
I only ask these because I'm trying to schedule my last summer and fit in as much a s possible while still being productive. Thanks guys.
I took a course so I can't answer you too well for the first question, but I'd say a month max. Shouldn't need much more than that especially if you're a good test taker. Pretty much just brush up on some grammar rules, and some 9th grade math concepts and thatll help you out a lot
2nd, i'd guess that it depends where you live. My area (not NY) I can sign up and take it in a week if i want. Check out MBA.com though, I think thats the site you sign up from.
I didnt take a course and am a very good test taker as well. I studied alot for the LSAT just a few months prior, so I nailed the verbal section. I mainly focused on the math from the books that you will buy.
But my suggestion would be to skim the material in the books, drill extensively on the quick math formulas in the back of the Kaplan book I used, and take the two free computerized practice tests you can download under real test conditions. Should take you about 80-100 hours all told.
how was your LSAT score, and GMAT score... just curious.

Djia5000, nailed the verbal section? So what happened in the Logic Games and Logical Reasoning? I'm just teasing. How did you find the LSAT Verbal section compared to the GMAT? I've heard the GMAT is easier, but with the Computer Adaptive Test, the difficulty dependson how well you do. If you scored well on the GMAT, how did you find the difficulty of the GMAT compared to the LSAT?
