Need Help Determining a Degree Path

I am currently working as a fireman in a large metropolitan fire department on the east coast. I am about to start my ninth year and at this point I feel leaving before I reach 20 years of service and a 50% retirement wouldn't be in my best interest. I am currently going to school for engineering. As I continue to promote in my fire department I am wondering if perhaps I should change me career path to business administration. My thinking is that I will have experience in managing a large amount of people and will have a working knowledge of different aspects of business thanks to my job. So my real question is, do I continue on my engineering track or do I switch to business and augment the skills I am developing in the fire department
