What's a good online MBA program to get into Investment Banking? Looking to spend around $60k... I was going to go with my alma mater University of Arizona where I got an Accounting degree back in 2011. I then ran the alumni chapter where I live in Minneapolis but when I came to look at the program last week hardly anyone would respond to my questions so I thought I'd look at another school for an online MBA program... there has to be some better than Arizona anyways.. any recommendations? I originally was going to go to U of Miami for regular MBA but it was at least $150,000 and an online MBA at U of Arizona is like $60,000 - so it just makes sense to do online, I don't want to be in debt forever. Anyone have recommendations other than ARIZONA where the program is well respect and connected with Investment Banking industry and also costs around $60,000? Thanks.
I have never heard of anyone breaking into IB with an online mba.
IB and Consulting are probably the two remaining post-mba paths where you must do it in residence because of the limited number of opportunities, the highly competitive applicant pool and the need to leverage career services (which is typically not a part of online mba programs) and alumni.
Banks come recruit typically on campus and/or you leverage the network of alums from the in residence program to get your foot in the door if you don’t attend a Target mba program.
Again, happy to be proven wrong and there are definitely cases of people getting IB roles from a sub T30 program through hard hard networking/diversity recruiting and other channels, but even that is rare.
If you’re sole post mba goal is IB, don’t waste your time or money on an online program. Apply to an in residence program- gun for T30 and hustle just as hard networking and interviewing and you’ll have a legit shot.

Seems like a great deal for the university. I'm not sure how it could be worth that much $ but maybe you have a unique situation to where you have unlimited funds or have a way in knowing that the online mba will somehow give you the connections or the restart in order to switch careers or move up. Other than that, I'd say no not worth it.
If you break into IB, you won't be forever in debt anyway, even if you do an MBA in residence.
