paying for an MBA consultant

Apologies if this was already discussed in another thread, I tried searching but didn't see anything super related. I'm applying for deferred MBA admission at a few of the M7 schools this year and am starting to consider working with an MBA consultant. I'm a lower income student (deliver pizzas on the weekends when not doing my SA role) and there's no chance I can spend $300/hr on a consultant. TheMBACircle is $99/hr but even that is kind of a hit – I don't want to blow all the money I made this summer as an SA just on a consultant. I also recognize how valuable their insights are and I don't know anyone with any knowledge of the admissions process. Any advice on where to find affordable consultants/are they worth it at all?

Just use applicant lab. Way cheaper and largely get the same feedback. Less individualized but will open your eyes to the "inside" and give you school-specific and prompt-specific feedback. Try to get some trusted friends/family members to help read and edit your essays. Used this method this past year and received interviews at H/CBS among others.
