phd in economics and business --> Top MBA chances?
Hi all,
I graduated from a top european business school with honours in 2008 after which I started working at a boutique corporate finance firm. I worked there for 5 years reaching an associate role. My work involves m&a, fairness opinion and business planning mainly.
During these 5 years I also obtained a phd in economics and business studying part time at an average school. I got my phd just because i like studying the subject and i had the opportunity to obtain it while working thanks to the support of both the university and my current employer.
Now I would to apply to a top school with the aim of moving to MBB.
Do you think that having a phd in economics and business would hamper my chances of getting admitted?
I would think you would have enough education and experience without having to go back for an MBA. If you do go back, I would only go to a top-tier school as most of the value you would be getting would be in the networking potential.
Study like hell for the GMAT and I do not think you would have an issue....
I forgot to add that i am 29 now
