Quitting grad school - how bad would it look?

Hi,

I'm currently doing a master's in engineering. Unfortunately I have some differences with my supervisor and I think that the project is a complete scientific abortion. I'm seriously thinking of quitting and looking for a job - would this be terribly received by consultancies? I wouldn't be applying for consulting now but it's something I'd like to go into down the line and I wonder how badly this would come back to bite me if I did quit?

Thanks.
