Iowa?

Rotman is actually a very good MBA school with respectable recruiting and I can't imagine how (funding or no funding) University of Iowa, which I wasn't aware had a business school, could compete. Feel free to correct me anyone who's heard otherwise.

manbearpigRotman's finance department is top 10 in the world...

Ya I was afraid I was crazy but I've never heard of "Tippie" until I just googled it and my dad's an MBA prof. Rotman's a top-notch school man and if you can possibly make it work financially I'd go there.

I should clarify what I said earlier. In no way is a Rotman MBA a top 10 global program, however, Rotman does have a world class finance faculty, and the MBA is still quite good. It's top 3 in Canada, and probably top 50 in the world.

Babyj18777Rotman is solid, but then you'd be U of T alumni.

Apply elsewhere.

I agree you should apply elsewhere but that's a stupid comment. U of T, as a body of alumni (not just finance) is among the most respected schools in the world, within the top 20 or 30 (THE or ARW/QS rankings). Great alumni base. I don't go to U of T but seriously...

Lol, not sure what you're trying to get at here. UofT is the best Canadian university... it's not a finance powerhouse, partly because it chooses not to be. The quality of its faculty and research are unrivaled in Canada. UWO on the other hand is an utter joke for everything except for Ivey.

shorttheworldwell good thing youre going for biz school and not for anything else!

cant apply that argument to yale school of management vs HBS that 'just because its an ivy its top'

I agree that you cannot interpolate a school's general reputation to specific departments. I just take issue to the notion that UofT alumni are at any disadvantage with respect to reputation.
